The Vision of Our Leaders
It is a great blessing for us to witness freewill gifts from individuals, couples, families, and organizations that benefit those in need. Indeed, as the LDS Philanthropies motto says, your donations are truly changing and saving lives throughout the world by funding extensive humanitarian efforts and by contributing to help thousands of people gain an education at our four Church schools
In the Book of Mormon, King Benjamin commanded that “ye yourselves will succor those that stand in need of your succor; ye will administer of your substance unto him that standeth in need; and ye will not suffer that the beggar putteth up his petition to you in vain, and turn him out to perish” (Mosiah 4:16). As you become aware of the great good that is being done around the world through LDS Philanthropies, we hope that you will also be prompted to help God bless His children. Thank you for being so faithful, for touching the lives of those in need, and for helping the Lord hasten His work.

Brigham Young University President Kevin J Worthen
Nearly four decades have passed since President Spencer W. Kimball told an on-campus audience that he expected Brigham Young University to become a leader - a unique leader - among the great universities of the world. He didn’t just hope it; he expected it.
Today, we see the realization of these lofty expectations taking place before our very eyes.
What an exciting time it is to be part of this remarkable institution! Its aims are my aims - to provide our students with an education that is spiritually strengthening, intellectually enlarging, and character building, leading to lifelong learning and service. If we are successful, and I am certain we will be, we will indeed see BYU become a unique leader among the great universities.
I invite you to help BYU reach its prophetic destiny.
BYU-Idaho President Henry J. Eyring
(His statement will be coming soon.)
BYU-Hawaii President John S. Tanner
We are grateful for your generous support of Brigham Young University-Hawaii. These sacred funds help support our wonderful students as they strive to become lifetime learners, leaders of integrity, and builders of the kingdom of God.
This is a remarkable time for BYU-Hawaii. I am inspired by the history of the university and the nature of its prophetic destiny, and I am committed to building on the firm foundations laid by pioneers, past presidents, prophets, and the Prince of Peace.
There is a great power and purpose at BYU-Hawaii. We are not merely helping students know something; we are helping students become something. When President David O. McKay broke ground for what would become BYU-Hawaii, he prophesied that this university would produce men and women of noble character “whose influence will be felt for good toward the establishment of peace internationally.”
I feel that BYU-Hawaii has an important role to play in the international Church as we prepare students who are able to serve with a spirit of love and peace. Your support of these students accelerates the building of the kingdom of God. Mahalo for your generosity.
