LDS Philanthropies: Helping Change and Save Lives 


LDS Philanthropies is a department of the Office of the Presiding Bishopric responsible for philanthropic donations to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and its affiliated charities including:

 

 

Blessing BYU from Beyond the Grave

 Although Howard W. Barben passed away in 2008 at the age of 96, he continues to help Brigham Young University students today.  Full Story

 

BYU Ballroom Dance Company wins two firsts at Blackpool Dance Championships

 The Ballroom Dance Company from Brigham Young University took first place in both the British Modern Formation and the Latin Formation Dance Championships at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool, England. They competed against dance companies from China, Germany, Great Britain and the United States.  Full Story

 

Cebu City Philippines Temple Dedicated

  President Thomas S. Monson, world leader of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, has dedicated its second temple in the Philippines. The newest temple is located in Cebu, the largest city in the Cebu province.  Full Story

 

Helping Hands in Slovenia

 Wearing their yellow Helping Hands vests, members from Ljubljana joined with members in the Maribor and Celje branches to help to clean up Slovenia in a day of service on April 17.  Full Story

 

Hundreds Gather for The Gila Valley Arizona Temple Dedication

 A remote part of the Arizona landscape is now home to the 132nd temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The Gila Valley Arizona Temple was dedicated Sunday in three sessions and now serves 21,000 Church members in southeast Arizona and southwest New Mexico.  Full Story
